This procedure is a small surgical interference and takes about 30 minutes. After fertilization, the egg is placed in a special nutrient medium, where the embryo will develop during first days. After 5-6 days of its development, the embryo is transferred into the uterus. Embryo transfer is an absolutely painless procedure that takes only 1-2 minutes, so it does not need anesthesia.

Finally the zero hour arrives.

12-14 days after the embryo has been transferred, the doctor will prescribe a blood test for beta-hCG, and its high results will indicate that the pregnancy has occurred. Within 12 weeks, you will still be followed up with your doctor, since pregnancy in IVF in the first trimester requires constant monitoring, and, if necessary, medical support.
